Challenge
Elementz Apartments has 142 reviews on Booking.com, a 8.8 rating for its staff and around ten thousand followers on Facebook. It also has no website: the domain it still prints on its listings has no DNS records at all, and its Google Business Profile shows the prompt “Add a website”. Every guest arrives through a channel that charges 15–22% commission, and two competitors within a kilometre outrank it on the map.
Strategy
Build the thing rather than pitch it, and price it against the commission the owner is already paying — roughly USD 36 on a three-night stay. Route enquiries through WhatsApp, which is how Suriname actually communicates, and which fixes the arrival-coordination complaint that recurs in the guest reviews. Make every claim traceable: the site is assembled entirely from what the property already publishes about itself.
Solution
A single-page site built on the property’s own identity — the orange sampled from the sign at its entrance and its kitchen units, the sun from its logo redrawn as a vector and used throughout. The property’s name supplies the structure: water, wood, stone, green and quiet, five elements drawn from its own courtyard. One dark block for the hero photograph, one full-colour block to close, white in between. The availability form composes a pre-filled WhatsApp message from the guest’s dates, party size and apartment type, and is built so a channel manager can take over the calendar later without redesigning the flow.
